Governor Mike DeWine has extended the short-term school closure until May 1, 2020.  As a result, Warrensville Heights City School District and all district sponsored activities and athletics are also canceled through May 1, 2020. 
With a longer-duration closure now in effect until May 1, we are modifying our distance learning program to ensure that it will be sustainable for our students, staff and families, and responsive to whatever lies ahead.  


Office of Business Affairs

The Office of Business Affairs handles a variety of non-academic challenges such as staff coverage for absences, insurance coverage, indoor air quality, integrated pest management and building maintenance and repairs. In addition, the Transportation Division, Custodial Services, Food Services, Audio Visual Services, IT Services, Grounds Maintenance Services, and Security Services all report directly to the Office of Business Affairs.
Staff members of the Office of Business Affairs are the first ones to see scholars in the morning when they transport scholars to buildings that are clean, inviting, and safe; at mealtimes scholars are presented with a nutritious meal; and often are the last ones to see scholars in the evening after dismissal from class for a safe ride home to an after-school event.
Staff members of the Office of Business Affairs manage delivery of a wide variety of materials used for instruction, oversee repairs made by contractors, and maintain clean lunchrooms during meals.
The Office of Business Affairs oversees all purchasing and maintains full compliance with rules and regulations stipulated in the Ohio Revised Code regarding acquisition and disposal of supplies and assets. This includes all purchasing ranging from the lease purchase of duplicating machines, computers, and buses, through conducting sealed bid openings and making recommendations for award of contract to the Board of Education.
The Office of Business Affairs has a significant human relations function that includes the hiring and evaluation of staff members, through staffing with substitutes to cover staff absences.
The Office of Business Affairs oversees the district’s safety program that includes preparation of safety manuals and flip-charts, through conducting safety drills with area safety forces.
The Office of Business Affairs manages a significant amount of paperwork ranging from processing of all Requisitions and Purchase Orders, through publication of numerous safety reports.
Finally – the Office of Business Affairs oversees the delivery of all IT and Audio-Visual services, repairs and equipment.
