Career Tech Programs


Scholars can apply to one of the following the Career and Technical Education Programs during their sophomore year for participation in their junior and senior years.

  • Audio Engineering - a skilled trade that deals with the use of equipment for the recording, mixing and reproduction of sounds.

  • Automotive Technology - an A.S.E certified program devoted to developing entry-level auto mechanic skills in maintenance and repair of both domestic and foreign automobiles.

  • Business Management Technology - prepares students for various occupations in an office setting. In this class, emphasis is placed on business skills, office procedures and computer skills needed to work in today's highly technical office environment.

  • Clinical Health Careers - introduces students to a variety of health related occupations. Scholars complete the Ohio Nurse Aide Training Program and are eligible to become State Tested Nursing Assistants (STNAs).

  • Computer Networking Technology - scholars design and maintain local area networks and wide area networks. Instruction is project-based. Scholars are eligible to take the Cisco Certified Networking Associate Exam to receive CCNA certification.

  • Cosmetology - prepares scholars to take the Ohio State Board Exam and become licensed cosmetologists.

  • Criminal Justice - prepares scholars for careers in a broad range of law enforcement/criminal justice disciplines.

  • Digital Video Production - prepares scholars for the field of digital communications and media. The scholars in this program will be trained to create, design, and produce digitally generated and computer enhanced multimedia products.

  • Engineering Technology - prepares scholars for a career in an engineering technology field and establish a foundation for university-level study in such fields as architectural, mechanical, electrical/computer, civil and environmental engineering.

  • Exercise Science - the study of human movement and the associated responses and adaptations.

  • Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technician - provides scholars credit hours toward an associate’s degree, emergency medical training (EMT) and firefighter’s license/certification.  

  • Graphic Imaging Technology - offers scholars the opportunity to develop creative, design, and technical talents and skills.

  • Marketing Education - prepares scholars for employment in retail marketing and similar business careers.

  • Pharmacy Technician - scholars learn skills necessary to assist a pharmacist in a clinic, hospital, or retail business setting.
