WHHS Freshman Awarded 3rd Place in Congressional Art Competition

WHHS freshman Quali-T Atkinson was recently awarded third-place in the Photography category at this year’s annual Congressional Art Competition! The award-winning photograph is a self-portrait as Rosa Parks, and was an assignment created as part of a Black History Month composition. Quali-T will join other winners from nearby school districts, at a special ceremony honoring their accomplishments at the Memorial Nottingham Branch of the Cleveland Public Library, 17109 Lake Shore Boulevard in Cleveland, Ohio on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 10 a.m. The Congressional Art Competition is sponsored by 11th District Congresswoman Marcia Fudge and is open to all school districts within her congressional representation. Established in 1982, the Congressional Arts Competition provides members of Congress an opportunity to promote and recognize the artistic talents of their young constituents.

The WHCSD congratulates Quali-T Atkinson on her impressive accomplishment and for proudly representing what it means to be a Tiger!
