NEO STREAM Conference 2017

From March 16-18, 2017, Congresswoman Fudge, in collaboration with Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C), will be hosting the Northeast Ohio Science, Technology, Recreation, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (NEO STREAM) Conference. Consisting of three action-packed days, the purpose of this event is to increase awareness, education, and utilization of STREAM fields in Ohio.

DAY ONE: Educators Day/Student Day*
Teachers and administrators will participate in dynamic professional development workshops and hands on STREAM activities led by the nation’s foremost corporations, federal agencies and educational organizations in STREAM. Workshop leaders will provide attendees with resources they can use to promote and further instruction in their classrooms and schools.

DAY TWO: Executive Leaders Day/Student Day*
School superintendents, CEOs, non-profit leaders, and elected officials will convene to discuss ways to develop, strengthen, and maintain the STREAM pipeline in Northeast Ohio. Participants will also explore possible partnership efforts to strengthen STREAM businesses and initiatives in the region through various roundtable activities, keynote presentations, and panels.

DAY THREE: Community Day
Community Day serves as an opportunity to engage community members in activities which promote STREAM education and careers. Constituents will receive information on current STREAM programs in the 11th Congressional District, live STREAM demonstrations, and practical ways to apply STREAM innovation in their everyday lives.

*Student Day will be held over two days with an anticipated audience of 250 students from schools across the 11th Congressional District each day. To be eligible to attend, students must be in 7th or 8th grade. Through innovative workshops, hands-on demonstrations, and tailored lectures, student attendees will be engaged and exposed to STREAM fields as never before.
