Fathers Walk Set for Sept. 20

To demonstrate the important role you play, you are invited to walk your child to school on Thursday, September 20th as part of the annual Father’s Walk. That day, fathers, uncles, grandfathers, stepfathers, foster fathers, brothers and mentors will join with father figures from schools across Northeast Ohio to show the important role of fathers and other men in the lives of children. Light refreshments will be provided when you reach your destination.

And while on your walk, shoot photos and video and tag them with #WarrensvilleFathersWalk and we’ll share them on Facebook and Twitter!

The Fathers Walk is a national event taking place early in the school year by more than 750 cities throughout the United States. Research has shown that children with involved and loving fathers are much more likely to be financially and emotionally secure, according to the Cuyahoga County Fatherhood Initiative (CCFI) which locally co-sponsors this annual event.  The CCFI has options and opportunities for fathers. For more information call 216.436.2000 or 211 or visit  www.fatherhoodinitiative.cuyahogacounty.us/

In addition to the CCFI, the local event is sponsored by the Healthy Fathering Collaborative, Passages, Global Parenting Network, and WKYC-TV3.

Warrensville Schools invites interested fathers to register for the event.  A flyer is being sent home with students.  Please complete the information and send it back by September 14, 2018.

We hope to see you walking your child to school on September 20th!
