John Dewey to Celebrate Dr. Suess, March 9

WHCSD is celebrating Read Across America Day Friday, March 9 at John Dewey Elementary.

In 1997 the National Education Association, pushed for a special day to celebrate reading across the country. And the first Read Across America Day was held March 2, 1998. This nationwide observance coincides with the birthday of Dr. Seuss.

WHCSD’s March 9 celebration from 9:30 – 2 p.m. – themed “We Speak for the Trees” from Suess’ The Lorax – invites community partners and guests from various professions to share their favorite Dr. Suess story with pre-K through first grade scholars.

If you would like to volunteer to participate in John Dewey’s Read Across America/Dr. Suess Day celebration, please contact Shawn Jones via email or 216-755-8759 or Dawnyell Smiley via email or 216-755-8743.
