Fathers Walk 2017 is Wednesday, September 20 for Warrensville Heights City School District and schools throughout Cuyahoga County. The Fathers Walk encourages fathers, grandfathers and other father figures to walk their children to school. Research shows a father’s involvement is essential to promoting good classroom behavior, better grades and high educational attainment. And the Fathers Walk creates family support and celebrates education.
The Fathers Walk is a national event taking place early in the school year by more than 750 cities throughout the United States. The local Fathers Walk 2017 is sponsored by the Cuyahoga County Fatherhood Initiative, Passages Inc., I Am A Dream, the Healthy Fatherhood Collaborative and all those who believe a father’s involvement in his children’s lives is important.
