Board of Education Reorganizes, New Meeting Dates Decided
At the reorganization meeting of the Warrensville Heights City School District Board of Education, held on January 9th, the board selected a new leadership team and, new dates for Regular Board Meetings and Workshops. 
 
The Board of Education selected a new president and vice president.  Ms. Traci Mitchell, a long standing board member and Vice President of the 2018 WHCSD School Board was unanimously elected to serve as President for the 2019 year.  Ms. Mitchell is a Warrensville Heights graduate and long standing resident of our community.  Board Member Mumin shared her excitement and support of Ms. Mitchell’s appointment as she stated, “She can lead us.” Board President Mitchell also expressed her outlook for the upcoming year and reflected that we have many challenges and new initiatives that we want to accomplish as a district.  The goal is working as a team with the rest of the board to keep things moving in the right direction.   

Mr. Ray Freeman, who previously served as President for the 2018 calendar year was also voted in to serve as Vice President by a 5-0 Board vote. Mr. Freeman has been serving the Warrensville Heights City School District as school board member since 2015.  Mr. Freeman thanked the board and community for allowing him to serve as President and echoed the sentiments of Ms. Mitchell as we embark on a new year. 

The Board also voted to move Workshops and Regular Meetings to Wednesdays for the 2019 calendar year.  Please also note that all meetings will now begin promptly at 6:30PM (a new change in time) at the High School, Room 154, 4270 Northfield Road, Warrensville Heights.
