Parents/Guardians:
Please continue to listen to your child read to you at home for the 100 Book Challenge. Every 15 minutes they read to you, your child receives one step. Remember to sign their 100 Book Challenge Reading log each night. We need your help to meet our 100 Book Challenge home reading goal. Your child should read a minimum of thirty minutes every day. Reading is the key to success!
The Ohio Achievement Assessment test is fast approaching. The WHMS will be taking the OAA test the week of April 22-April 30, 2013. Parents, please work with us to help prepare your child for the “OAA” test. Let your child know that it is important for him/her to work hard to do well on their test. Their good test results will help us move towards are District Goals. Here are some tips to help your child do their best on the test: 1) Encourage your child to read at least 30 minutes daily. 2) Encourage your child to get a good night’s rest the evening before the test. 3) Make sure your child eats a healthy breakfast. 4) Encourage your child to answer every question-do not leave any item blank. 5) Encourage your child to remember the 100 Book Challenge 4 point DSI Rubric Formula or R.A.C.E. strategy for short/extended response questions. 6) Encourage your child to check his/her work before they pass it in. 7) Encourage them to use the entire allocated time, 2 ½ hours, to answer every question and re-check work.
We want you to know that we are working hard to ensure that all students meet their academic goals in the future. We encourage and welcome your input as we strive to help all students perform at their optimal level. Thank you for your continued support of your child and our school district. Please continue to send your child to school in dress code. We appreciate you sending your child to school dressed for success and ready to learn.
Sincerely,
Constance Rudolph,
Principal
