Principal Ervin currently serves as the principal of the Warrensville Heights Early Childhood Center. She assumed this role in 2023, bringing over a decade of experience in the Warrensville Heights City School District (WHCSD). Mrs. Ervin began her career in the district in 2008 as a first-grade teacher and has since taught fourth and fifth grades, as well as served as a Title I Lead Teacher. Her administrative experience includes roles as the Primary Literacy Specialist and Assistant Principal within WHCSD. Before joining WHCSD, Mrs. Ervin taught for one year in Euclid and another year at a charter school in Cleveland.
Mrs. Ervin earned her undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education from The University of Akron and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Ashland University. In the Fall of 2023, Mrs. Ervin successfully opened the Early Childhood Center, where she leads a team of 45 staff members serving approximately 240 Pre-K and Kindergarten students. Her leadership prioritizes developmentally appropriate best practices with a strong focus on early literacy. Mrs. Ervin emphasizes meeting each student at their level and ensuring their best interests are always at the forefront. Under her guidance, preschool enrollment has increased, and the school has achieved a Gold rating from Step Up to Quality. Outside of her professional achievements, Mrs. Ervin is married to her husband, Shawn, and they have three children.
