Kudos are in order to Warrensville Heights Intervention Specialist, Dr. Johnita Hughes. At the beginning of March, she had the honor of representing Warrensville Heights City Schools as a presenter at the Council for Exceptional Children conference in South Carolina. Her presentation, titled “Ability Grouping and Rotating Stations for Inclusive Classrooms,” highlighted instructional strategies currently being implemented in the 4th grade to promote full inclusion of students with disabilities within the general education setting.

This approach emphasizes student movement, differentiated instruction, and equitable learning opportunities for all scholars while fostering academic engagement and collaboration. Dr. Hughes remains committed to educational excellence through her continued advocacy for exceptional learners and her dedication to supporting their academic growth and success.

Dear Warrensville Heights Families,

I appreciate your patience, flexibility, and continued partnership while navigating this challenging winter season. In every decision we make, our priority remains clear: providing strong learning experiences for our scholars while keeping safety at the forefront.

Based on the most recent information available we anticipate that, Warrensville Heights City Schools will be open tomorrow, Thursday, January 29, 2026. At this time, schools are expected to operate on a normal schedule.

While conditions have improved, temperatures will remain frigid. We encourage families to ensure scholars are dressed appropriately for winter weather, including warm coats, hats, gloves, and layered clothing, and to plan for safe travel to and from school. Being prepared is especially important during prolonged cold conditions.

We continue to monitor weather conditions closely and will notify you via the various channels: news channels, social media, our website, email, call and text if we anticipate any changes.

We remain committed to the well being, safety, and success of our scholars and community.

Parents/Guardians,

There will be no school tomorrow Friday, January 23, 2026 due to extreme cold temperatures, including a wind chill of -20 degrees. Our district has a significant number of students who walk to and from school, and it is imperative that we prioritize the safety and well-being of our scholars. Exposure to these conditions poses a serious risk. Thank you for your understanding and continued partnership. Please stay warm and safe.
