Thank you for your hard work and dedication as partners in learning during the 2016 – 2017 school year. This year has been great, full of growth and progress for our scholars and staff.
Summer is a great time for your child to practice what he/she has learned throughout the school year. There is no better activity for your child than to engage in reading for enjoyment. Not only will your child discover the joy of being lost in a book, he/she will practice the many skills and strategies he/she has learned all year. Teachers and other educators identify summer learning loss as a major challenge when starting off the new school year. However, students who read over the summer return to school ready to continue their learning with little or no learning loss.
Please remember to visit our Little Red Book Bank at any time or on any day located outside of the school building to refresh your books over the summer. In addition, Warrensville Heights Public Library has some amazing programs and books available, be sure you visit the Library.
For your convenience you have access to I- Ready (www.i-ready.com) which is an online program that we have used throughout the school year. It is a program used to enhance skills in the areas of reading and math. Your child’s user name and password were printed and given to scholars, be sure that you take advantage of this awesome program and log your scholars on for 30 minutes per day for reading and math. By following these suggestions, you will definetly continue with the momentum of learning!
It has been an absolute pleasure educating your child this school year. Have a safe and wonderful summer. I look forward to seeing you in the Fall of 2017-2018 for another wonderful school year.
Mrs. T. Thompson, M.Ed
