Principal's Message

Dear Eastwood Tiger Families,

My name is Andrea Bishop and I am honored to introduce myself as the new principal of Eastwood Elementary School. Over the past 12 years, I have worked as a teacher and administrator, but I consider my most important job to be that of a child advocate. I will spend a lot of time with your children, getting to know them and celebrating their successes as well as provide support to build areas that need improving. I will encourage them every day and let them know they are valued and have a special place in our school community. Not only am I excited to begin working with your children, but I look forward to the work we will do together. I’m eager to see your children through your eyes. I will be here to work with you should they need any help navigating any aspect of the school day.

My goal is to ensure that all children are safe, healthy and productive so they are empowered to make intellectual decisions necessary for them to become academically, socially, physically, and emotionally successful and responsible. With that in mind, it is crucial for you to be an active participant in our school community. Whether you are a classroom volunteer, special event participator, or member of one of our school committees, you are encouraged to be involved! Research on schools clearly demonstrates that parent participation in their child’s school coincides with a greater likelihood of academic success.

Our staff of highly qualified professional educators and support personnel share the same commitment and dedication. We will provide your students many opportunities both inside and outside of the classroom to excel and reach their full potential! We will begin and end this school year with 3 targeted goals: Embrace Opportunities... Unlock Potential... Inspire Excellence!

Listed below are a few quick facts about me. I:
  • Am a graduate of Ashland University (Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood, 2005)
  • Am a graduate of Bowling Green State University (Masters of Educational Leadership and Administration, 2008)
  • Earned my Superintendent Certification from Cleveland State University in 2015
  • Have eight years of administration experience spanning elementary, middle, and high schools
  • Taught 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades
  • Am the proud mother of four beautiful daughters: Samantha (29), Jennifer (26), Savannah (24), and Joy (22)
In closing, I would like to thank the Warrensville Heights Community, along with Superintendent Jolly, for bringing me along on this journey! I look forward to a productive school year with great expectations and positive outlook for ALL our students!

Yours for Education,
Ms. A. Bishop
